Record breaking production for 5 consecutive months! Southwest Aluminum’s high value-added products have surged, sprinting towards the end of the year

Recently, Southwest Aluminum Industry Group disclosed the latest production and operation data, which shows that since May this year, the company has achieved a record high output for five consecutive months, with a particularly significant increase in the output of high value-added and high-tech key products. Against the backdrop of intensified competition in the aluminum processing industry, the company has delivered a high-quality development answer. ​

Behind the steady increase in production is the structural optimization effect of Southwest Aluminum’s precise policies. As a core enterprise under China Aluminum Group, Southwest Aluminum focuses on the demand of high-end fields such as aerospace, new energy, and shipbuilding, and continues to increase research and development and production of high value-added products. Data shows that the production of its two core segments, aluminum alloy materials and aviation forgings, has surged by 93.59% and 20.2% year-on-year, respectively. Among them, the independently developed 7050 aluminum alloy pre stretched plate has achieved large-scale production and has been successfully applied to the manufacturing of wing panels for domestically produced large aircraft C919, marking a major breakthrough in the localization of high-end aluminum materials in China. In the marine market, the company has completed mass production and installation of more than 30 types of aluminum materials, with various performance indicators reaching the international advanced level, achieving independent and controllable key materials. ​

The improvement of production efficiency stems from systematic reforms and technological upgrades. Southwest Aluminum has taken the “Four Determinations” work deployment of China Aluminum Group as the starting point to create a high-precision slitting center. By integrating three longitudinal cutting lines and upgrading the transmission system and closed-loop control system, the slitting accuracy and product quality have been improved to a new height. In August, Southwest Aluminum has undertaken 40% of the outsourcing work of the strip company, achieving a 17% increase in self-produced and self sold volume compared to the historical peak. At the same time, the enterprise has established a special group to improve the efficiency of hot rolling, optimize the rolling process and equipment system, and increase the output of the “1+1″ hot rolling production line by 36% year-on-year, with a comprehensive yield increase of 1.51 percentage points year-on-year, providing solid support for high and stable production. ​

Entering the sprint stage of the fourth quarter, Southwest Aluminum has launched a “daily tracking, weekly balance” work mechanism, focusing on increasing production of key varieties such as pre stretched plates and battery materials. Each main production plant is making synchronized efforts: the casting plant achieved a year-on-year increase of 10.1% in ingot commodity output, the rolling plant’s self-produced output increased by 26.42% year-on-year, and the extrusion plant’s output increased by 19.1% year-on-year, forming a high-efficiency operation pattern throughout the entire chain. In the face of the upcoming 60th anniversary of the establishment of the enterprise, the cadres and employees of Southwest Aluminum stated that they will anchor the annual goals with a fighting attitude of “every minute counts”, continue to deepen production and sales coordination and technological innovation, and strive to successfully complete the annual tasks. ​

The relevant person in charge of Southwest Aluminum pointed out that the company will continue to adhere to the concept of “production based on sales and production driven by technology”, accelerate the commissioning of the 1650 vertical thick and thin cutting production line, and in the future, form large-scale production capacity for high-end products such as new energy battery materials, further consolidating its leading position in the domestic high-end aluminum processing field.
